Tirza Zandbergen

Tirza is our resident Cell Biologist. She will run, troubleshoot, and further develop manual tissue culture protocols with the aim of making the translation from these protocols to our automated pilot line for producing micro- and macro-tissues. Tirza received her master’s degree in biomedical sciences with a specialization in Regenerative Medicine from Maastricht University, the Netherlands. During her master study, she focused on designing and engineering mechanically active microenvironments for three-dimensional cell cultures that are dynamically coordinated and provide spatiotemporal control over biophysical cues. As a curious person she has a broad range of interests and thrives in dynamic multidisciplinary environments. She is excited to help build on the future of regenerative medicine and bring enthusiasm and creativity to the team.
